Hello,

a bit about me:

Ever since I picked up the trumpet in third grade, music has driven and pushed me through some of the hardest times in my life and this is why I feel that music is one of the most powerful forms of art.  My name is Riley Hoyt Olin and I am in the Recording Arts Bachelors of Science program at Full Sail University.  This step that I have taken to become an audio engineer is only the first of many to come in order to achieve my dream of working in audio post production.

For the longest time, I have been wanting to work as an audio engineer recording musicians and bands in a recording studio. As a musician of thirteen years, I have always felt that I have wanted to enter the entertainment industry, but while studying at Full Sail University I felt that I am meant to work in audio post production. I feel that I will enjoy my work when creating sound effects for movies, being able to use my imagination and use my eyes and ears together to create works that I will be proud to put my name on.

Thanks to Full Sail and it’s classes about audio post production, I have had the chance to redo all audio components in a scene from DreamWorks Penguins of Madagascar including foley, ambience, large and small sound effects, and ADR (Automatic Dialogue Replacement). I have never enjoyed myself while working on an assignment or piece of work as I had for that project, and this sparked my dream to work as an audio post engineer for children’s animated movies.
